Grass-Fed Meat is Naturally High In:
Health promoting Essential Fatty Acids
Vitamin E, C, and Beta Carotene
Cancer protecting CLA
He causes the grass to grow for the cattle and vegetation for the service
of man, that he may bring forth food from the earth. Psalm 104:14Benefits of Grass-Fed Beef
Meat, eggs, and dairy products from pastured animals are ideal for your health. Compared with commercial products, they offer you more "good" fats and fewer "bad" fats. They are richer in antioxidants including vitamin E, beta-carotene, and vitamin C. Furthermore, they do not contain traces of added hormones, antibiotics or other drugs.
Nature has given us a healthier alternative to weight control. Meat from grass-fed animals has about half the fat as meat from grain-fed animals and significantly fewer calories. When cattle are free to forage on their natural diet of grass, their meat is almost as lean as wild game.
Meat from grass-fed animals has two to four times more omega-3 fatty acids than meat from grain-fed animals. Omega-3s are called "good fats" because they play a vital role in every cell and system in your body.
Omega-3s are most abundant in seafood and certain nuts and seeds such as flaxseeds and walnuts, but they are also found in animals raised on pasture. The reason is simple. Omega-3s are formed in the chloroplasts of green leaves and algae. Sixty percent of the fatty acids in grass are omega-3s.
Meat and dairy products from grass-fed ruminants are the richest known source of another type of good fat called "conjugated linoleic acid" or CLA, which may be one of our most potent defenses against cancer. When ruminants are raised on fresh pasture alone, their products contain from three to five times more CLA than products from animals fed conventional diets.
The meat from pastured cattle is four times higher in vitamin E than meat from feedlot cattle and, interestingly, almost twice as high as meat from feedlot cattle given vitamin E supplements.

We also sell live whole animals. The process works like this:
Step 1: You let us know you'd like to purchase one of our steers, or ½ of a steer. Each animal yields approximately 600-700lbs of meat and most people find splitting the animal in halves works well, yielding a good variety of steaks, roasts, stew meat, and ground meat.
Step 2: We arrange delivery to Redwood Meat in Eureka. The carcass will dry age for 2 weeks at this full service butcher.
Step 3: While your meat is aging, we will put you in contact with the butcher with your cutting instructions. They then cut and wrap your meat. They store it in their freezer until you are ready to pick it up. If you would like, we can pick up the meat at Redwood Meat in Eureka and meet you at the dairy for delivery.
You would need freezer space, a deposit, and the rest of the payment at time of delivery.
